James George, MD

With more than 30 years of experience in emergency medicine and leadership, Dr. James George offers valuable knowledge and skills to the company as strategic advisor to the president and CEO. Prior to this position, Dr. George served as a group president of TeamHealth Emergency Medicine, and in his current role, he works collaboratively with the president and CEO of TeamHealth to strategically and tactically position the company for optimal performance with national healthcare initiatives.

Dr. George is a former practicing emergency physician, emergency department chair and board member of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). He is also an attorney, a certified diplomat of the American Board of Law and Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Legal Medicine. Active in numerous professional and trade associations, Dr. George is a national authority on the medico-legal aspects of emergency care. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Emergency Medicine, a Fellow of ACEP and former president of the New Jersey chapter of ACEP. In 2003, Dr. George was selected to receive the New Jersey ACEP Distinguished Service Award. This award is presented annually to a member of ACEP who has contributed outstanding service to the New Jersey chapter by providing significant help in achieving one or more of the chapter’s goals and objectives. Dr. George received a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and his medical and law degrees from the University of Louisville.
