Lance Leggitt
- Senior Vice President, Government Relations
As senior vice president of TeamHealth’s government relations function, Lance provides insight and leadership on issues related to federal and state government affairs and public policy. His responsibilities include oversight and counsel around our legislative and regulatory advocacy strategies as well as leadership of our external consulting relationships. Lance also represents TeamHealth across a number of important national societies and advocacy groups.
Lance brings a wealth of domestic public policy experience to his role. Before joining TeamHealth, Lance ran his own strategic consulting firm, Leggitt Strategies, LLC that was affiliated with the national law firm of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell and Berkowitz. His work in Washington, D.C., provided clients with strategic counsel on federal and state government affairs and public policy issues. Prior to that – in what was his second of two stints as a senior white house advisor – he served as a Deputy Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy and Deputy Director of The White House Domestic Policy Council. As a member of the President’s domestic policy team, he provided advice on the development and implementation of regulatory and legislative strategies across a number of cabinet agencies, including Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Labor, and Small Business Administration, among others.
Lance earned his bachelor’s degree from University of Georgia and his law degree from Mercer University. He maintains licenses to practice law in the District of Columbia, Virginia, and Georgia.
