The Challenge
Kettering Health Network requested an analysis of its anesthesia staffing and operations at its Washington Township location. Emerging from the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic, perioperative leaders wanted to explore opportunities to align operating room capacity with demand for anesthesiology services. Facility leadership recognized a strategic imperative to balance operating room efficiency with growth in its surgical program. To gain perspective and an understanding of the current state, TeamHealth Anesthesiology partnered with facility and perioperative leadership for an onsite visit and collaborative project to identify solutions that would grow surgical volume, enhance patient care and ensure good financial stewardship.
