Reducing Hospital-Acquired Clostridioides difficile

In late 2020, the Serious Reportable Incidents (SRI) at St. Francis peaked at 1,445, which prompted the facility to focus on the potential spread of highly contagious hospital-acquired (HA) Clostridioides difficile (C. diff). During the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, TeamHealth implemented a well-rounded program and analyzed previous interventions to identify the best path forward. To do so, the team needed strong leadership, clinical expertise and operational resources.
